A Howloween Trail Run for me!

No costume just dirt! That's how I started my Howloween!! I love Ocean Trails! But I didn't see any bunnies today-they must have been hiding from The Great Bunny Chaser!!

My sheep herding Trial.....

hmmm....Intermediate Course A is hard!!! There were 5 doggies entered and only one qualified! One Border Collie won, another Border Collie was a NQ and then there were the 3 Retires....that would be me, a corgi and a border collie! Mom and I went into the arena-it was much bigger than I train on. She set me down at the Advanced handlers post and she walked up to the Intermediate handlers post and she sent me on my outrun, once the sheep got on the hay! Well, that was where it started and ended! Mom said "Get Out" and I did..and then mom started backing up toward the Advanced Post and i stopped! Mom was quite taken aback. I looked at mom...but I stopped. Mom said "get your sheep" so off I ran to do my straffing runs....I barked at them and they ran into the corner. mom tried again to get me on the sheep...but today it was not going to be!!! Mom told the judge "Thank you" and she recalled me......what no more sheep mom????? Oh well. mom said she loved me and gave me a hug afterwards! And Grandpa was giggling!

Also known as squirrel watch! I went to the park with my petsitter today! I found a tennis ball but I was much more interested in the squirrels! They were all over the park!!

My mommy is running the Carlsbad Half Marathon for a doggie charity, Labrador Rescuers!

Jolly Ball on the Beach

Mom and I went on a road trip to Camarillo California yesterday. We were going up to visit mom's hooman son. Before we got there, mom took me to play on the beach! She had bought a new Jolly Ball for me before we left LA, so I had to try it out! I've never played with my Jolly Ball on soft sand-this was new to me and mom said it was great exercise! I had a great time! And it was a greta beach! I hope we go back again!

A rainy tuesday at the park

It's raining!!! It's southern California, it very rarely rains here but when mom and I woke up it was raining! Mom's at work today on NCIS, so I went to the park with my petsitter! And guess what....I was the only one at the park! Me and a bunch of squirrels! What a great day!

I hope all my doggy friends are having a nice tuesday! Mom is only working 2 days this week so I'm going to have her help me visit my doggy friends on her day off!

A trail run at Forrestal Nature Preserve

I'm still here! Mom had a horrible work week last week! She hardly had the time to twitter let alone blog for me! She said she was carrying heavy camera equipment up dirt hills in a canyon....a canyon sounds fun! But I don't want to carry anything! So when the weekend arrived, mom didn't want to do anything! She did take me to the park to play with my jolly ball-and I always love that! I saw a few of my doggy friends: Lucky the poodle was there chasing his tennis ball but I didn't see my new friend Jack-he just chases me!

Today, mom and I got our running gear on and headed to a new trail area very near our house. As a matter of fact, it's on the other side of the hill from my favorite bunny sanctuary, Ocean Trails. The trails we were running today were in the Forrestal Nature Preserve. There weren't many miles of trails but the trails were steep. We started off and went straight up! Alot of these trails are multi purpose: hiking, bike and equestrian....so I found alot of horse poop to pee on! But no bunnies! I don't know if I like not seeing any bunnies!

Run, Sheep and Run

Mom got home on thursday night and didn't go to work on friday! She was MINE!!! Mom was VERY tired on friday so we didn't do much-but when saturday came we were busy busy busy!!

We started off saturday with a run down to the harbor-we ran 4.32 miles....it was sunny and warm...I don't think mom was enjoying the sunny warm run! But we did it! As soon as we got home, mom showered and we jumped in the car!

We were going sheep herding!!! I got to see my sheep!!! It was so much fun! We trained for 2 hours. We weren't in the arena this time, we were in the open field. We were originally just going to work on my outruns in the open field, but then our trainer, Steve, decided I was getting more out of working in the open field. So we stayed! Mom was so happy and was giving me lots of praise!!! She was so excited!! She said I was such a good girl!! I of course love it when mom heaps praise on me and then when it's associated with sheep! it was a fun day!!

We got home and I was tired!!! Mom went out to watch some sort of football game and I stayed in and napped!!

Today, mom woke up at 5:30. That usually means mom is going to work-but not today! Mom took me!! We drove to pasadena and got out of the car at the Rose Bowl. There were all kinds of humans there with their dogs! Lots of doggies!!

This was the Race for the Rescues 5K to benefit The Rescue Train and a few other animal rescues. Mom and I raised $365 dollars in 4 days and we were running to support the homeless dogs and cats who don't have a home yet! there were alot of dogs there that needed a forever home!! Mom hopes that all of them were adopted today!!!

We ran our 3.13 miles around the Rose Bowl with over 900 people and dogs.....I drank water from mom's Amphipod running bottle-even though they had dog bowls at the aid stations....I'm a princess, I drink from mom' s water bottle! And we had a great time!!

Race for the Rescues 5K this sunday!

And I get to run with mom!!! I'm so excited I wont be left while mom is running! We signed up and we're collecting donations.
