Rest In Peace my sweet Velcro

For 13.5 years I've always had a shadow. Velcro followed me wherever I went, hence her name. I just woke up to go to the bathroom and didn't hear her follow me... my shadow is gone. My soft sided piece of Velcro is gone. My ❤️ dog.  She saved me after I saved her. She will always have a special place in my heart.

It was so hard watching her age. She had been such a vibrant dog- going everywhere with me, running miles upon miles on trails and roads with me.

The past few months I didn't take her in the car as much- she didn't want to go anywhere. She enjoyed her couch and her kitties. But I'm so glad I was able to take her and her siblings to Jalama Beach one last time. She loved that beach! And this past trip she chased seagulls like she was a puppy.

I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you when you needed me most. I raced home as quickly as I could and was here to help you over the bridge. I hope you know how much I love and will always love you!! My heart hurts! My Velcro dog is gone! I hope you weren't in any pain those two days I wasn't here before you passed.

I'm so glad you had Grandpa with you and Griffin. It brings me comfort knowing that you were surrounded by love even though I wasn't here.

You will always be my girl.

We lost a doggie friend today....

Sweet Lorenza, you will be dearly missed!! We can't believe you are gone. We send woofs and purrs to your mommy, we hope they make her feel a little better!

Hello doggie friends,

Mom has been a horrible secretary on our bloggie, but we did want to share this story with every doggie.

An Australian cattle Dog friend of ours living in southern California got attacked by a foster dog the other night. Poor Chicken is 13 years old and has grave injuries. His fur mom, Amy is DEVASTATED! She rushed him to the vet and he had emergency surgery.

The original estimate for care was $15,000 but the vet has given her a rescue discount so as of right now the bill will stand at about $7500.00

If you can spare ANY amount, I know Amy and Chicken would be forever grateful!!!

We love running on the beach early in the morning

Mom has started taking us to the beach early in the morning when it's dark!! We get to go off leash and chase each other!! The littles are attached to each other (because mom doesn't quite trust Jack to be on his own).  We love our 5am runs on the beach with mom!

Goodbye Sam

We lost a dear friend yesterday! Sam of How Sam Sees it went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. This news brought tears to our moms eyes, so we know that Sam's mom is very upset! We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Sam's mom!

I'm on hiatus right now from Glee. Which means I am spending every day with my babies! It's absolutely wonderful! Best way to spend my vacation!

Jack was bitten today

We were at the pet store (Centinela) buying food like we always do on a sunday. We were in the checkout line and there was a woman with two dogs ahead I is. They were all sniffing and then all of a sudden jack was being bitten- he was in the mouth of the Jindo. Thank goodness he wasn't shaken! Jack was screaming! Omg I felt absolutely helpless!

We're at the pet emergency right now because of the puncture wound. I'm hoping he doesn't have to have a drain!!!!

My poor little guy! I'm supposed to protect him and I didn't! I feel like a dog mom failure!!

Happy Barkday to my sweet girl Velcro

My wonderful loyal devoted Velcro turned 9 years old today! From what my petsitter said, she had a great time playing with Ceilidh, Jack and of course a ball!!

Brandy went to the rainbow Bridge on December 8th......

On saturday December 8th, mom helped Brandy to the Rainbow Bridge. We were there comforting her and she wagged her tail and kissed mom. We know our kitties were there to welcome her and lots of doggie friends! She was only a member of our pack for about 6 months, but she was part of our pack...and she is now back at home!

Fostering a senior...ok, adopting a senior, was really an amazing feeling!! I will never forget her!

Well, we are back!! We have a HOUSE!! With a backyard!!!! We love it!!! We will share pics of our backyard in another post.

Before we moved into our house, our mom decided to help a 12yo cattle dog named Brandy. She had been taken to her vet by her owners- they wanted her euthanized. The vet said no and took responsibility for her! She stayed at the vet for a month until mom said she would foster her... And she's been with us ever since.

She and Velcro didn't really get along, must be a cattle dog thing, but the longer Brandy has been with us the better it's been.

When Brandy first came to us she was a bit overweight, but mom got her out walking and she began to lose weight. She was spunky and liked to play with a squeaky ball.

But as she stayed in our house, mom noticed her changing. She developed a lump above her eye, and it started hurting her when she began to run into things (because her eyesight is bad as well). Then she would occasionally sneeze blood. Mom was concerned and took her to the vet who saved her. She offered free vet care for life!

The vet ended up taking a skull X-ray and didnt like what she saw.... She was pretty sure she had a malignant tumor.

So mom brought her home to the pack. She has really really slowed down and declined! The tumor above her eye has grown and all she does is sleep! She doesn't want to walk much anymore but still gobbles down her food!

Mom gives her live and kisses every morning and night in between working! But she knows she doesn't have much time left..... Mom says if she stops eating then she's telling us it's time!

We try to comfort mom when she cries hugging Brandy... And we sit by Brandy.. Because she is part of our pack. She licks moms face and wags her tail- so she knows she is loved!

Her time here is limited..... Keep Brandy in your thoughts. Paws crossed.

We have had a busy few months

Mom has been a blogging slacker! She hasnt blogged for forever! But we are still here and we've still been running! Our lives have really been thrown upside down since Mom started work at the end of July! We had to move out of the condo because the HOA said we, as a pack, were too many dogs! They wanted mom to get rid of one of us! We heard her mutter "Over my dead effing body!"....So we moved out! And moved into my mom's brudders house and she started looking for a house!

Mom has found a house for us!! And we my have our own house and yard on October 18th or 19th.

We have had fun living at our uncles house and spending time with grandpa but we are really looking forward to having a place that is our own again!!

Walkies

Our petsitter from our condo came all the way up to the valley today to see us!!! She misses us terribly!! We were so excited!! We have her lots of kisses and didn't want her to leave!

She took us on a walkie and then we came back and played in the yard! She will be our petsitter again!!! Mom has promised that she will!

My kitty, Blossom, is silly! She is always sleeping in the sink.... What is up with kitties?? I try to tell her that she shouldn't be in the sink but she doesn't listen to me!

A new place to call home...

We have moved! We have a yard now and mom seems happier and less stress because she doesn't have I deal with something called an HOA. Mommy said this HOA was telling her she had to get rid of one of us... Mommy said over her dead body so she moved all of us, the kitties, moms clothes, her computer and anything she might need..... We think mom is pretty wonderful for standing up for us!!!

We went to work with mom!

Mom has started working again but she took us to Panavision to help prep her cameras for her tv show.

We were there all day and we didn't get to nap!

Today I'm the only one in the car with mom... Something about Ceilidh and Jack not passing the "test" at Panavision. Mom says Jack barked too much and then Ceilidh would try to nip....silly little terriers!

So it's me, like old times!
